TIBET CHARITY

Tibet Charity is a Society registered under H.P. Society Registration Act 2006 and Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 2010.

Tibet Charity was founded by Venerable Lakha Rinpoche in Denmark in 1997 to help the neediest Tibetans in India and Nepal. Support for the cause grew rapidly, first with the formation of an independent unit in Sweden and then, in January 2005, the opening of an office in India. Tibet Charity (India) is now a registered organisation with its own governing body, working in close coordination with the Central Tibetan Administration and local Indian administrations.

Though Tibet Charity Denmark continue to remain our main financer, in the process of our work, we have succeeded in winning the support and trust of many individual sponsors and organizations such as Brigitte Bardot Foundation France, Save Tibet Austria, Graines d’Avenir France, Israeli Friends of Tibetan People, Nyamthak Rogpa France, Worldwide Veterinary Service England, Vets Beyond Borders Australia and more.

AUSTRALAN HIMALAYAN FOUNDATION

Following in the footsteps of Sir Edmund Hillary whose life work was devoted to giving back to the Sherpa people, The Australian Himalayan Foundation was founded in 2002 by several of its current Board of Directors who wanted to make a positive contribution to the well being of the people of the Himalaya. With a lifetime of experiences in the Himalaya and with a breadth of skills and knowledge, they share a commitment to work for the well being of the Himalayan communities, cultures and environments. We are grateful for the support of founding Director and Company Secretary at the time, Mark O'Toole.

In 2005 we were granted our Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status and with an increase in fundraising efforts we were able to commit to a range of projects and began working in close partnership with a select number of non-government organisations and local communities. In August 2009 we became a Member of ACFID and Signatory to the ACFID Code of Conduct and in 2012 we were granted accreditation by AusAID. Our successful application underpins our commitment to adhere to the highest professional standards of reporting and management.

In line with DFAT requirements as well as our commitment to high standards of program delivery, 20% of donations are spent on management and administration costs. This reflects best practice that ensures the AHF maintains robust, professional standards consistent with industry practice.

HART NEPAL

HART is based in Pokhara and Bharatpur and is engaged in animal welfare work throughout Nepal, established in 2010 to reduce animal suffering throughout the country from its bases in Pokhara and Bharatpur.

We exist to try to redress some of the suffering endured by animals that are without power to control their lives. Neglect, cruelty and ignorance combine to make the world a hostile place for many creatures.

HART needs funds, equipment, expertise and hard work to make a significant impact on the health of the animals in Nepal. Please see our "wish list" alongside for items we always need. Funds are essential to keep us going. Anything at all we receive is used directly for the benefit of the animals, and we need help with funds constantly.
